The principals

Andi Teran is an author, director, and creative consultant who has written for Vogue, Vanity Fair, New York, and Monocle. She was an editor for MTV Style, has fiction published by Penguin Books, has written for the New York stage, and written and directed narrative and documentary shorts.

Hamish Robertson is a creative director, photographer, and former design editor at Vanity Fair, GQ and CITY magazines. His work has appeared in books and publications across the globe and he’s presented at Cannes Lions, Aspen Ideas, and Adobe MAX.

Here’s a photo of them in the New York Times.

The name

Our studio borrows its name from Lazlo Moholy-Nagy’s 1947 book of the same name—a text elucidating the interrelation between art and technology, and exploring the ways in which photography, film, and multidisciplinary art and design practices can be used to capture and communicate the dynamism of the modern world.
